Project management for e-learning isn't sexy, is it? #wbyol7
I never appreciated project management, until it started saving me time and money.
Whether you like it or not, after instructional design, and media design, project managment is the third leg of the e-learning stool.
It doesn't matter so much what process or system you use, but without project management your work will be behind schedule, overly expensive and likely sloppy in nature. Ouch...experience speaks!
I like to say that, while it's not sexy, the role of project management in e-learning is to turn chaos into clarity. But relative to immersive e-learning simulations, saving time and money through good project management...means more time and money to spend on creative efforts.
This particular posting isn't the place for a deep dive into project management, but nominally it means: no surprises, no do-overs, and no scope creep. Not bad, for not sexy!
